2. Undergraduate Course
Education
With 27 undergraduate majors covering 8 basic branches of
learning, the Education Administrative Department of ZJFU supervises
undergraduate education. The number of in-campus undergraduates has
reached 6,531.
Based on the
distinguished features and the advantages of its own, the University
concentrates on the training of practically advanced and enterprising
talents who not only make a good command of knowledge in their own fields,
but also are equipped with broad learning relevant to their majors so that
they may apply to the development of the local economy and make greater
contribution.
Aiming at the objective of personnel training, a new model concerning
personnel-training has been set up to meet the demand of coordinated
development among three aspects, namely knowledge, ability and quality.
This is carried out in a way of pursuing specialized training on the basis
of general education. The university attempts to formulate a general
training framework for undergraduates by reinforcing the learning of
students¡¯ basic knowledge, promoting their practical skills, broadening
their visions, stimulating their creative potentials, emphasizing on the
development of their distinguishing characteristics and teaching them in
accordance with their aptitude.
The knowledge structure of the university is represented by broadening
the range of training and emphasizing on the characteristic of specialties
on the basis of improved basic training standards. The ability structure
of the University generally falls into 3 levels: the development of
learning ability; the development of the ability of practice and operative
skills in specialty and the development of overall application and
scientific research ability.
Professional Training Education
At present, the number of students who are receiving professional
training education reached 1,351and most students major in three-year
technical courses. Currently, except for the major of Forestry, others
belong to the three-year technical courses, namely, Financial Accounting,
Decoration Designing, Tourism Management and Service, Landscape Planning
and Designing, Computer Technology and Application, International Trade
(including the cooperative running of the college with Australia), thus
making the professional education of the University more striking with its
practicality and feasibility.
